I purchased my first property in Guelph in 1997. We rented it out to a lovely family and before long we were purchasing additional homes as family rentals and student rentals. With the University of Guelph and a rental vacancy rate in Guelph which floats around 1%, this city has always been our number one choice for investing.
Born and raised in Guelph and with over 15 years Real Estate experience, and extensive background in Social Services, I use genuine care, patience, and concern when dealing with clients. It’s not just about a sale, it’s about finding my clients the right home or investment property and getting your Real Estate needs met. I have also specialized in New Home Sales as well as purchasing and managing Vacation Rental Properties.

I have been passionate about real estate investing for almost 30 years now. I can remember buying my first home with a basement apartment on the west side of Guelph. I had high hopes of the rental income offsetting the costs of the home, knowing little about real estate investing or what would be involved. Fast forward a couple of decades, and I now have personal experience with student rentals, buying condos on speculation, short term cottage vacation rentals, converting homes into legal duplexes, buying a building lot, and purchasing real estate outside of Canada. I also spent six years owning and managing a cottage vacation rental management company for cottages throughout Ontario.
I will never forget my experiences learning and growing through these investments without guidance. I have spent several years coaching individuals on their real estate investments. I enjoy meeting other real estate investors and often travel to other cities to learn more about investing through real estate investment meetup groups. It was the lack of such a group here in Guelph, which caused Jackie and I, to form the Guelph Real Estate Acquisitions Team (G.R.E.A.T.). We have run this group free networking group for two years now, and I’m proud to say we regularly have over 40 people attend five meetings a year! There is a lot of truth in the quote often attributed to Jim Rohn, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”.
